A hired bodyguard takes on a vengeful crimelord in this tense psychological thriller set in a remote South African village. Haunted by his past involvement with notorious crime-boss Christo (Simon Mabija), when he acted as the star prosecution witness, corrupt accountant Robert Nile (Dennis Hopper) fears for the worst when he learns Christo is about to be freed from prison. Hiring professional killer Alex Laney (Christopher Lambert) as his bodyguard, the pair, along with Nile's grown-up daughter Erika (Diane Kruger), head off to a small remote village in the bush to gain some time before the voodoo-wielding Christo appears to take his long-awaited revenge. |
